I was thinking about the oldest photos I had seen- The old B&O roundhouse was fully enclosed, but there's really no need to spend the money for such a large roof when the service/prep was done. Good way to keep engines/cars off of the tracks and out of the way....Just so you know, turntables reside 'outside' the roundhouse, within 'the circle' so to speak![]()
If you really want to experience the best N America has to offer the Canadian (VIA Rail trains #1 & 2) are pretty tough to beat.Looks like Florida has some decent rail options. I'll have to check out the service out of Jacksonville. I'd like to take a train trip again. It's been a long time.
Thanks Mike I'll check into that later on. But for now, I'd like to keep it local, and I'm interested in a trip from Jacksonville to Miami (never been there). If you really want to experience the best N America has to offer the Canadian (VIA Rail trains #1 & 2) are pretty tough to beat.
I beleive you have two choices with Amtrak, The Silver Star or the Silver Meteor. Check them out on Amtraks websiteThanks Mike I'll check into that later on. But for now, I'd like to keep it local, and I'm interested in a trip from Jacksonville to Miami (never been there).
Interesting, earlier this year during my two week visit to Switzerland their trains ran like their watches !In Norway trains are disasters of delays ....
Latest I heard: The train is delayed, due to other trains
Yeah, they must have given it a good wash before that picture was snapped.BNSF 'Pumkins' , nice shot !
