I just read this entire thread today for the first time. I must say, this one degenerated faster than a Russian government promise.
I thought the initial replies by the AH brethren were levelheaded and factual. Old is just an adjective and not an insult. In the world of electronics, old happens pretty danged fast. But this OP somehow felt not only insulted but petulant enough to write multiple insulting replies. Not informational exchanges defending his old amp but just plain insults. It's pretty much a hallmark of failed thread when you insult
@TLS Guy and the topic is vintage equipment. That never turns out well.
Ah well, there's always the next thread. Maybe we can get somebody to that wants to fight over some 8 track tape players or vinyl cleaning machines. You know, fairly new equipment.
