I have an older pioneer surround reciever (no HDMI); 2 optical inputs; an HDTV (Panasonic); a Panasonic vcr/dvd combo recorder (HDMI)and a hddvr cable box. How do I set it up with my reciever? Thanks, 74bleam

I am not getting a signal from my reciever

Hookup your HDMI cables from your DVD and cablebox to the hdmi inputs on your tv.

Hookup optical cables from your DVD and cablebox to the receiver.

If you want to upgrade receivers. The HK AVR 254 is going for a little over 200 on ebay from their factory.

If you need optical or hdmi cables look at monoprice.com. It's a wholesaler for some of the store brands. But they sell individual cables!:)

And If his a-b spkr selector is set correct and selects the right sound function and the mute is off,{ive messed up this stuff before} his receiver is going to sing mightily!!!!

I no what not to do, after the where is my sound at, experence!
Hair pulling happens mostly on the pc but its spreading out in the digital realms all over now!
Some hdmi audio problems are causing high blood pressure i think!
