I googled SPL.. Is "Sound-Pressure Level. Measured in dB." talking about the Frequency Response? Does that meant that it will hit harder and also lower frequencies? Thanks again.. I will check out that thread.

SPL meaning more output yes, but to see where it has more output overall, you have to look at the entire response curve of each sub.

It is interesting that the one sub would hit harder than the two. I saw the pictures from the thread posted but they don't give a reference so it is hard to determine real size.

Either way (Current Ultra/2, Current Plus/2, or the new Ultra(/2?)) it should hit harder than the Servo 15... Correct?

Warpdrv... are you telling me that you have a 8200ft3 room for your home theater?????
No... that is the symbol for cu. ft... 8200 cu. ft.
My room is huge, and that doesn't account for adjoining rooms...
I will be perfectly honest with you... The Plus/2 as another says.. fills my entire first level of my house.

You have a med. size room, and you could get by with just a plus. but, your saying your moving and want to future proof your purchase... Listen, your next house better have at least 3 times the cu. ft. room then what you have now for you to be concerned.

I was worried also about not having enough, so I went big.. and its more then I need, but Im very happy with that...

The Plus/2 is so strong, it shakes the fan in my son's room, way on the other side of the house... trust me... Plus 2 is way more then you need in twice the size of the room you have...
Oh and I promise you... those ceiling tiles WILL be an issue with this sub...
good luck

Your house is gorgeous!!! What state do you live in?

But if I got the Plus/2 and turned it down, it shouldn't cause a problem right? I can always utilize all of its power later down the line right?

WarpDrv, I noticed that you have the Studio 100 as well as the PB12-Plus/12. If you were to do it again would you still go with that setup or would you get the 60s or the 40s for the fronts? Thanks again.

**edit** I just saw that you are in chicago, if your ever in the area, or you would like an audition, your welcome to come up and check it out... :)

Hey thanks... just bought the house, 15mins north of Milwaukee and first thing on the list was to outfit that room... and Im not done, Now that I have the medium sized HT and Im really happy with the results, thus far... Next thing on my list is to do some room treatments... Its a bright room, but I'll tame that beast...
I actually bought the Sub first, but I knew that I would be getting the Studio 100's, (haven't arrived yet) Maybe its a bit overkill, I could probably get away with the 60's or even the 40's as they all sound great, but who cares.. My thought was that I could cross the 100's a little lower, and have a good overlap with the sub going a bit higher, like to 60hz and corss my mains down about 40hz, if I can get away with it..
Im still running my old A$$ polk audio speaks, but with my new Rotel Amp 5 x 200 Im warming up to them again... but they will go downstairs.

You can certainly tone down the Plus/2 and utilize it more when you have more room... If your not in a hurry and you have the cash, and can wait...
I would see what SVS's new 13 will offer.. If I knew it would be out in april, I prob. would have waited for that.. but I'll tell you I love this sub..
When I put people in the HOT seat as I call it.. they get scared.. seriously !!

how far of a drive would it be from Chicago? We are actually in Arlington Heights, IL (I just updated the profile). I might take you up on that if I can't find anyone closer here. :) I think I can wait until April since my amp is not out yet. As soon as the new Denon 3808 gets released, I am all over this gear. :) (I might get some of it early.. ) :)

It looks like I would just take 94 all the way up. :)

Probably about 1.5-2 hours... north to my area MAP
Note that there is a Paradigm dealer in racine..
I used that guy to get a 10% discount off of the speaker package, which I will take to my other dealer for leverage... http://www.alsstereo.com/
I have never seen so many paradigms in one building... the guy has a ton.

I was told by one Paradigm store that each store has an agreement with Paradigm. They said that stores in other states can't sell to any customer if they don't live in that state. Was he telling the truth or was he just trying to stop me from checking around for a better price? Could I go up to this other large store in WI and get my stuff from them or do I have to buy from my "local" dealer??

Heck, you could take a trip up to Canada and pick up some Paradigms... Haven't checked the exchange rate recently, but my understanding was they cost less there.

Maybe thats true:p!! Even at the rate of the U$ buck the GST @ 14% is a real deal breaker, even for us;).

Not worth your time... just get them here..
I don't know about you guys... I put my time worth at least $100. an hour...
6-8 hour drive there and same back... that $1400 to 1600 bucks to me...
Im not wasting my time like that, unless I was already on vacation, and then theres the "Do you have anything to declare" US Govt.. hmmm no thanks..

So plan a vacation....:D j/k

I'm sure your dealer will probably give you a discount for buying a whole set of speakers (sans sub). I got my friend a good deal when he bought 4 in ceiling speakers for surround, a CC470 and some 20s for his room.

Thats what frustrates me so much! I have been to the only two dealers near me and they both said "I don't care how much you spend... No discount".. What gives? I was extremely polite and they would not budge... Uhg.. must be something in the IL air...

I went to the guy in racine, and he offered me without asking, 7% discount, then I called him on the phone from my car, and said, "Hey I'll come buy from you, if you make it 10% discount, I mean lets think about it here... your just shuffling paperwork, I even have to come and pick them up from your store, and install them.. No discount you deliver an install..." he was quiet, and then said, OK. Then I took that discount to my dealer closer to my house, and he was more then happy to meet that price, whom I wanted to buy from in the first place. :)

Im happy... I wish I could have gotten more discount, but hey... Its a new model/upgrade. So they are less likely to deal... Not sure if they are allowed to sell out of state. I wouldn't ask, I would just order them from Racine. You can even just use any old address, and say you moved.. I'll give ya some WI addresses...

That's weak. I have one close dealer and 2 that are farther, but all of them had no problem giving discounts of between 10% to 20% when purchasing multiple items. For me, they gave me a discount on most everything simply because I spent a lot of money there over the years and send them a lot of customers as well. It can pay to build rapport with a shop and/or salesperson.

That is the type of business "relationship" that I am trying to make with these local dealers but they are just punks. I have left from both places not wanting to go back there. That is one of the reasons why I am looking further out.

I would assume that if I was buying:
2x Studio 60 or 40
1x Denon 3808 (or whatever :) )
2x Studio 20
2x ADP-590
1x CC-590

that they would give me SOME sort of deal.. That is a lot to drop down on the table.. I even asked if they would offer anything if I paid in cash.... still nothing.. Got that response from both dealers (neither were associated with the other)
