Suggestion for new smaller surrounds...

Greetings everybody.

My current setup:
HK AVR235 receiver
Paradigm CC170 center
Paradigm Titan fronts
Paradigm Atom rears

I'm looking for something smaller (if possible) to replace the rears. Space is an issue and I would like some speakers that I can mount on the wall. I know this can be done with my Atoms but I'd like something that doesn't stick out quite as much (read WAF). I am happy with the sound of my current setup.

Any suggestions? Anybody have any experience with smaller surrounds from Paradigm?

Thanks in advance.

Surround speakers

Paradigm makes some bipole surrounds speakers and in-wall speakers that might work for your application.

I've thought of in-wall speakers but...

I've thought of in-wall speakers but the seating area is in the center of the room. My speakers are currently going at a 45 degree angle towards the center of the room (directed to my ears). Is this not as necessary with rear speakers? To complicate matters, the ceiling is vaulted so I'd have the same problem.

I dont know; I am not an adopter fo the 7.1 system. If you feel as though you get more out of a 7.1 then you will have to figure out where to located the back speakers. Could you use 1 inceiling in the middle/back and go with a 6.1?

I think he has 5.1 and is just lookin for smaller rears. First thing I would do would be order some Axiom Bipoles, and try them out because of the 30 day return policy. I see you aren't too budget sensitive if you own Paradigm.

Thanks...

Thanks for the responses - all good ones so far.

I have a 5.1 setup at the moment, I just want some smaller rears if possible without sacrificing anything that I'm getting from my Atoms. We watch movies probably 75% of the time (5.1) and music 25% (all speakers getting the same sound distribution). So I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on the surround speakers, especially since I'll have to find some use for the Atoms that I already have.

I'll have to look into the 30 day return policy at my local sound shop. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks.

Thanks again.
