It's interesting that the SVS PB-10 has 300 watts power vs. HSU VTF-2 MK-3 12" has 250 watts power. Should I go with more watts or larger sub?
There are a lot of things that contribute to a subwoofers performance. So just because a subwoofers amp has more watts doesn't make it better. Just because the subwoofers driver is larger doesn't make it better.
A combination of all things, amp, driver, cabinet, crossover, ports, and size, will contribute to the overall performance of a subwoofer.
Look at the Definitive Technology Supercube 1.
The Supercubes dimensions 14-1/4" W x 14-1/4" D x 14-1/10" H. It had a 1500 watt amplifier. And has a 10" driver. $1200
Then look at the SVS SB12-Plus
Very close to the same size of the Def Tech (15” deep x 14" wide x 14 " high). But only has a 425 watt amplifier, But has a larger 12" driver. $699
