Sub suddenly bottoming out?

I was able to remove the driver and took it to the technician at work. The centering ring was beginning to separate from the cone. He used some kind of adhesive (not sure what) and applied an electric current to the coil to center the driver and apply pressure while the adhesive cured. I let it cure for almost two days. I reinstalled the driver and there are no more strange noises! Who knows how long it will last but for now it's great to have a working sub again.

You will likely find out soon. If it works for a couple of months or so, it will probably work years.

I would consider using at least an infrasonic filter and may be a limiter.

If this repair fails, you should be able to get a cone/voice coil for it and recone it.

Nice to see you have it working again as good as new. :)
