D Dude#1279435 Audioholic Warlord Apr 10, 2025 #84 The market rose sharply yesterday. According to Trump his reasoning. Trump limits tariffs on most nations for 90 days, raises taxes on Chinese imports Facing a global market meltdown, President Donald Trump on Wednesday abruptly backed off his tariffs on most nations for 90 days, but raised his tax rate on Chinese imports to 125%. apnews.com >>>Trump later told reporters that he pulled back on many global tariffs — but not on China — because people were “yippy” and “afraid” due to the stock market declines. He added that while he expected to reach deals, “nothing’s over yet.”<<< I kind of figured he'd say there was a different reason.

Bear in mind, after the 1929 stock market crash, it took 25 years for the Dow to get back to its pre-crash level. If you were just starting to invest after the crash, you'd be OK. But, if you were about to retire at that time and you had significant investments in stocks, you'd be in a world of hurt. Many of the reforms enacted after the crash have since fallen by the wayside.

I bought 2x leveraged ETF on their way down more it went down more I bought (dollar cost average down). The recent uptick which I think may be a dead cat bounce, I am positive but barely on my 2X ETF.

The jump is only because Bessent said the trade war with China is unsustainable, and Trump did not bash Powell today. It is not because the issue is/is being resolved. It is traders market now.
