Static noise on speaker when using Surround mode on Harman Kardon AVR300RDS

Good day,
I do have a static noise coming from my speakers everytime a turn on to the surround analogue mode on my OCT 2000 YOM Harman Kardon AVR 300rds. this happens when When I am litening to Radio, on normal DVD mode and cable

Could anyone advice on what I could do.

- is the signal out from your cable/dvd at max volume? Trying to amplify a very weak signal will introduce noise

Otherwise, it's likely something hooked up to the receiver introducing noise. Try unplugging everything, and then listening to every individual input.

You may be able to isolate which component is introducing the noise. Personally my receiver has "source-direct" and "pure direct" modes which are way worth it and give a silent noise floor unless your ear is right up to the receiver... see if the H/K has anything that works in a similar fashion.

ON that note, does anyone know a brand of prepro and a brand of amps with a VERY low SNR? Who doesn't want to be able to have no signal and turn the gain and volume up to MAX and hear pure silence.

Thank you for your help. I have tried the isolation bit without any successes.

The system behaves in such a way that when I am plying the radio first thing in the morning it plays just ok without the noise then after a few minutes the static noise is introduced bit by bit until its unbearable to leave it in any surround mode

It sounds as if you have a bad microprocessor board.
