I think you are confusing the issue of the looks of a speaker with the looks of a picture that has a speaker in it. The speaker is not what looks most interesting in that photograph.

It gets men interested in looking at the pictures. And they are often filled with desire. The manufacturer hopes that the men will get confused (which is common when viewing naked women) and believe that at least some of the feeling of desire has something to do with the speakers. Right or not, advertisers have been using sex to sell things of all kinds for many years. Remember those old car ads with beautiful women lying on the hoods of the cars?

I think quite a few of the speakers that people are claiming are beautiful are really quite ugly. In my opinion, a low end Polk bookshelf speaker with real wood veneer (such as the RTi A1 in cherry with the grill on) looks better than many of the models pictured in this thread.

Yeah, every time I see something like that, I roll my eyes and think, "If I want to see pictures of naked women, I'll get Playboy or something!"

Yeah, those speakers do look kind of cool. I wouldn't want them in my house, but I think they look kind of cool. And we must have more laughs around here because serious can get boring sometimes.

I like Monsoon computer speakers. I use these: I think they look better, though the model you show is more expensive and is supposed to sound better. Unfortunately, not enough people bought them. I believe the company went out of business. I will not be happy if anything happens to mine, as they are the best computer speakers I have ever owned, and have that "magical" clarity that planar speakers are known for.

I still think the speakers are the most interesting thing in the picture... but simply because there are thousands of women that have the same (or better) shape than the model does... but not many speakers that have the same (or better) shape than the speaker does.
