A few good suggestions, but in the end I spent more than I wanted. I have $3500 invested into these monitors and they're in an area that I need to move around in, plus I have kids. At over 40lbs each, they are prime for being tipped over.
LOL!
I have my DIY BMRs on those monoliths that I rec'd. Those BMRs are probly about 35lbs each, beastly big bookshelf speakers, I probly have almost $2k of materials in them, and another 100+ hours of labor!
I thought that I would be filling those things with sand or shot, and maybe a couple small screws to permanently attach the BMRs. But, once I placed the stands and speakers, I think that is overkill. I also have a couple of dogs that get rowdy, and I'm not too concerned about them tipping, but my doggies are only ~30lbs.
But, I don't have kids either, so if the extra $ makes you sleep better at tonight, then it is $ well spent!
I have never heard an ATC, but always heard that they are well engineered high quality speakers.
