Speaker Recommendation ~$200

If you live near a Fry's Electronics... every once in a while (it seems about every month or two...) you can get the Infinity Primus 362's on sale for $99 apiece... they are usually $299. I bought these myself with an additional $5 5 year no questions asked replacement plan from Fry's for right around $230 a pair (with the warranty). I love them :). These are floorstanders though, I dont think you specified if you were looking for bookshelves or anything in the $200 range, but there is one option for some towers if you want.
Those are great speakers and a great deal. Make sure your room is big enough for them, though! (I have the 250s, and they sound excellent with most material, but can become boomy with bass-heavy material in my 12'X20' room.)

Someone asked for recommendations, we give them. It is up to the OP to research from there. Many times, someone knows about a current deal, and they are actually able to help the OP. If you took the time to research the deals that were posted, you would know that.

Oh boy, I get another post count. Hopefully I can make-up for those seven months I missed.
What's a post count? Is this important? Tell me more about how I can improve my post count if I need to. Thank you Zumbo.;)

Im gonna have to say the 2030p from behringer, that chris reccomends. At a 130 per pair, they are tuff to beat. Excellent off axis response, and measure fairly flat.
ok ive just received the 2030p for a job im finishing(was gonna go with sbs-01, but back ordered for a month) and did Chris' mods. I have to say that this is a wonderful speaker and the off axis response is amazing. I ran a pair powered with an a500 and with 2 pci20-39plus subs and highly reccomend them. I played with some different setting on the dcx and the speaker responded extremely well. At 130 a pair I know of no other speaker close to this in price or sq.

For mid-range and treble, I don't know of any speaker in the $500/pair range that will match the 2030P, when you consider all aspects of it's response(overall linearity + off axis response + energy decay), and most of these in that price range will not have the same build quality as the 2030P. :)

Did you notice the somewhat lower than normal cabinet resonance? And the substantial, 1.25" MDF front baffle? And the quality of the drivers - the midwoofer having a cast frame and massive motor? The crossover - again - using high power components simply not seen normally.

I know the price forces one to believe it can't be so great. I had a hard time accepting while I was analyzing them.

Where are you guys getting the behringer 2030p for $130 and is that shipped? Also what center speaker would you pair it with.

Didn't mean to thread crap if I am.

It is a valid question and I have to say, there isn't going to be a matching center since they are studio monitors, so you would be buying additional speakers to use as center, surround, etc...

Nice, but musician's friend won't have them for another 3 weeks. Great price on them; local places have them for twice that.

You can get them on ebay as low as $120 unless you're from Puerto Rico and have to pay $30-$50 for shipping :/.

Do this kind of threads actually help, or add more confusion? Usually a bunch of speakers get recommended by a bunch of different people, some actually own the speakers they recommend; others recommend something they have heard about; others recommend something they would like to own but don't have; others recommend something just for post counts. What we need is a shoot-out of the speakers frequently recommended.
Yeah it does help, because at least now I have some names and brands to go by and price/performance comparison. Also maybe which ones I'd like to demo, but in terms of helping me make a decision on which to buy, not really because now I have 10-15 different ones to consider. Still, thank you everyone for your input. :)

They are actually on sale at Amazon for 129 shipped from Amazon. Since these fall way lower than the $200 allotted budget and so many people have vouched for them I'm leaning towards these. This way I can just get the Dayton Sub-100 right now instead of waiting. Baring any strong negative opinions I think I'll get them.

So these would be on par or better than Polk RTi6s, PSB Alpha B1s or AV123's ELT525s? (I kind of like the wood enclosure look for speakers but I'll live =)).
