Sound stops immediately after a short sound from speakers.

1. Do you have another AVR that you can switch out to see if the Pre-pro is at fault?
2. Does this happen with all amps or just the Marantz amp?
1. I dont have another amp, even though i have one its very difficult to reproduce, expecting to come after 2 hours tat may be 3 hour also :(
2. Last time when no sound was there all the devices were okey and running but in the second last occurrence marantz amp only went into protection mode emotiva was running and the processor i think went to stand by.

Yes, it could very well be the case. That's why I asked about your speaker cables. It's a pain in the ass but you really should inspect them and run conduit to make your life easier next time.

I had the same thing happen to me and it was damage to one of my speaker cables. It runs under and behind our couch to a surround speaker and got pinched under a couch foot when we moved it to vacuum or something. It would play at low volumes but would go into protection when I turned it up.
I will definitely do it next time.
Currently the only option i have is to find out the damaged channel and change the wire(in my case dont use the ceiling cable and run a new cable through some were else )
But it will be a very difficult task in mycase to figure out the damaged cable because of the issue reproducing time as well as the number of channels (11).
Is there a way to find out if my speaker cable got damaged somewhere ??

If you happen to have the extra cable laying around you could disconnect the ones you can't easily check, run some across the floor to the same speakers and see if it keeps happening. If it works like it should then it is most likely a short in one of the cables.

Wouldn’t a simple volt meter let you test for a short here? Granted if intermittent but comparing resistance between speaker pairs I’d expect you could tell if something was frayed or had one of the wires touching the other terminal.

Im not sure if a resistance check will hint a damage in the wire. But we can test the continuity tat i will do anyway :)

Sorry I wasn’t clear. I’d expect low or near zero resistance indication of a a short.
