Sound modes from optical connection into marantz 4002

I have my xbox 360 setup to stream music from my PC connected to Marantz 4002 via dig. optical connection.

I don't seem to be getting any sound out to my sub. I can only change the sound modes to virtual, stereo or Dolby D. I know that the Xbox is set to send out DD 5.1. when watching movies I get full sound and if I change the xbox to output Stereo I get LFE.

I just got the receiver so I could have something setup wrong on it too. I hope I've done a decent job explaining this...

Thank you all in advance.

There is no LFE in stereo, just to clarify. LFE is only present on multichannel audio signals. What type of files are you streaming? (bitrate?) What configuration do you have for your speakers? If you don't have some or all of your speakers set to small, the receiver will play full range with no sub when fed a stereo signal.

I am streaming mostly 192kbps WMA files, I'll have to check what the speaker size is set to, I let the MRAC set everything up auto for now. On my old Denon I had everything set to small so that makes sense on the stereo setting. it sounds pretty good for most music with just the mains but some music needs the extra low end from the sub.

speakers are:
Def Tech SM450
Def Tech CLR 2002
ML Dynamo sub

I'm waiting for the 8002 as a possible replacement for my 8300, though I am still not sure if it will be a TV or receiver first.
