Did you see the Saturday Night Live 12/14/19 opening bit?

I thought the punch line at the end… about the Electoral College… was right on the money.

Having lived in San Francisco for many years, loved their idea of a house there.....found it a bit strange for a bunch of people who work in Manhattan but maybe they don't get out much. Great skit and point....

Have to say they captured the view points of pretty much everyone except the militant groups of crazy people that we won't get into.

1000 people in Wisconsin sure have a lot of power... :)

I expected more of a response to the SNL video.

It's kind of quiet around here, and its still a week to go until Christmas. How about this? It summarizes the two major points of view.

I can't disagree with this! Those that proclaim Trump was sent by god don't realize they are the exact people the architects of the constitution were trying to protect against. They rail against the religious intolerance in the middle east and elsewhere but practice their own form here in the US. Putin is laughing his ass off at how successful his plans to derail democracy are.

There's a bigger issue with humans who believe they know the mind of God in the first place. Just like those who say "God has forgiven trump for" cheating, banging porn stars, lying, stealing, etc, etc.... I asked someone who talks like that once if he had god on speed-dial or something. That in itself shows the sheer arrogance of people. They think they can twist "God's will" to suit their own agenda.

And the kicker is that I'm 99.99% sure that Donald Trump is totally non-religious. I bet he hadn't set foot in a church in decades before his hypocritical presidency. For him to be Christian is to acknowledge that there's a god who is smarter and better than he is... and fat chance of that. So good job, religious right- you put the antichrist in the White House! Talk about irony!

I'm not religious but I usually just keep my mouth shut and roll my eyes in private. But sometimes I just gotta stand up and ask WTF?

So, Putin is the first Russian leader who tried to derail our government and way of life?

Nope, but he's the one that is continuing what the KGB started in the 80's. We're now seeing the results. Subverting a government like ours takes a long time.

Putin is not the first Russian leader who tried to derail our government, but he is the first Russian leader who has direct cooperation from the leader of the US government.

And the KGB continued what had begun during Stalin- the Red Scare was handled incredibly badly, but as it turned out, many levels of the US government had Soviet spies in the '50s, probably as far back as the beginning of Soviet Communism. OTOH, the US had spies around the globe at the same time- it's what governments do. Don't ignore the deflection of the far Left, either- they and the far Right are closer to each other than many realize, standing on either side of Communism.

No, but he is the first Russian Leader that has successfully gained a US President's trust over US Intelligence Agencies!

Maybe I should have said "publicly declared" his trust for Putin over US Intelligence!
Yeah but he lies all the time so that declaration is meaningless.

On the other hand, US intelligence could be viewed as flawed/biased/agenda driven etc. Maybe trusting Puty is the smart move! Trump 2020! :)
