Slaying On Greyhound Bus

Hey majorloser, would you mind editing the title thread. I was going in thinking it was some bad travel issue/story, like I've had before myself, on a bus. I wasn't really ready to read that, and I don't think I would've if I knew the subject material.

I was thinking of attaching the local story with the schizophrenic grocery bagger who went postal with his samurai sword 5 years ago or so. Then I thought better of it.

Thank you.

That article just made me shudder..... Does Canada allow for the death penalty in any circumstance?

Then they should make a special case with this lunatic......
I was thinking that, but I didn't want this thread to turn into a capital punishment debate.

Maybe he can just be shipped over to Iran and be punished by a court of clerics. That would be some interesting justice!

Man, that is messed up. I am still in shock...............maybe stunned is a better word. What has gotten into people theses days? Seems like there is so much violence. Wonder, what was the attacker's motive? It doesn't appear that he even knew the victim. Basically, a random act of violence. So sad.

This guy is clearly disturbed. I'm guessing even if convicted, they probably wouldn't hand down a death penalty verdict because he is a nut. Due to the horrific nature of the act though, you never know.

I was called for jury duty on one of the worst cases in recent memory here in Ca. and they rejected me because I said I would vote for the death penalty in this case if he was found guilty.

I felt like throwing up after I read that article. I still have knots in my stomach, I wish I never read it...I feel so bad for the victim, his family and the people that witnessed this horrific act.

I made a huge score today! My neighbour in the igloo next door saw me filleting the seals for dinner. I bartered 3 seal fillets for a pair of snow shoes (it is so much easier walking in 8 feet of snow now). He fried them up and loved them so much that he is willing to trade one of his sled dogs for a continous supply of them. I will be running quads now! I am sledding into town now to show off my new bling (you know how the girls love a man in snow shoes:D)

I don't know what validity there is to assuming violence is substantially different 'today'. Most of that perception, I would suspect, is due to media coverage of sensationalist stories.

The media coverage is a big part of it. The big media outlets IMO thrive off showing violent news stories. It makes for good t.v. I will be watching the news and they will be reporting of some explosion somwehere and the other part of the screen will be showing a standoff between a man that fleed police in a car. Is it really necessary to show a live police chase on t.v. Double the violence, more ratings (sad but true).

I myself am not finding talk about "Clubbing Seals" funny.
