So, I have an interesting situation. I there is a guy local that offered to buy my DIY sub. Between the materials, drivers, amp, finishing, mine was about $1250. I told him I would build a new one but TC Sounds prices are going up a substantial amount and that it would potentially cost 50% more. We ended up working out a price of $1500.
Now, with that I have two options. One would be to build another one, but with 18" drivers and even more power

or just buy a beautiful SVS PB-13 ultra (or maybe a dual driver unit but they are huge).
What do you think? I know mine goes very low but I am not sure how beefy the SVS is. I am not sure what to do. I know for low end stuff, mine punishes the drywall/windows in the surrounding areas but it is not as musical as I had hoped. I do not want anything less in respect to raw power but I am curious to see if an SVS unit would be better. Too bad there are none local to audition.
For those who have not seen the progress of the build over the last couple month:
(1) TC-3000 15" quad VC
(2) TC-VMP 15" passives mass loaded for 17.2 Hz (mid 15's in room)
4.4 ft^3 enclosure - outside is Line-X'ed and it looks amazing
EP2500 amp loaded at 8 ohms nominal
Thanks.
