Setting up Onkyo SR706

I just got done installing my Onkyo SR 706 w/ my in-wall Polk LC265i. The in-wall speakers from Polk sure make it look seamless and tight. I only bought the 3 speakers for the front at this time. I plan on adding surround speakers to the rear, and I am currently shopping for a good sub for this setup.

I have a couple of questions on how I should have this system setup. I have read that this receiver has different "listening modes". I was wondering which mode would be best for sports and regular TV viewing w/ my current setup? I think it was shipped to me and set on Mono and now I am using PL II Movie Dimensional. It sounds decent on this setting. I have also adjusted the bass and treble quite a bit higher than the factory setting b/c I am not running a sub.

I understand that the sound that I will receive w/o the sub might be considered a bit thin, but I expected some more bass from these speakers than what I am getting. I am not sure if it is my settings or what. I did go ahead and do the Audyssey automatic setup and that was a cinch to setup. I just was expecting a bit more bass from this setup than what I am getting, and I have to figure that it has to be more user error than the speakers themselves.

Any help would be appreciated. If anyone has any questions on my setup that would help w/ the solution ask away, and I will do my best to provide some answers.

Turn Audyssey off and run the front 3 as full range or large.Thats going to be as good as it gets until you get a sub.
