update on B&K amp from Magnolia

update on B&K amp i ordered from ym local Magnolia store. paid in full on 2/1 and was told it would arrive in about a week (i was originally told they couldn't special order it, but later learned the person that told me that was misinformed).

so, i called yesterday, 2/7, just to see if it had arrived yet. after they looked for it, but could not find it, they let me know that it had not even shipped yet and there appears to have been some sort of hitch in the order. they didn't bother to let me know that until i called them and, had i not called them, i wonder how long i would have sat around waiting for something that was seemingly never going to ship. meanwhile, Magnolia is earning interest on my money.

in all fairness, the salesman i have been working with is going to get on top of this ASAP and they are now apparently having the item shipped directly from B&K to the store. aside from this delay and order snafu, they are being helpful. however, were i the salesman and a dedicated customer had just spent a good deal of money on an item, and was considering spending a great deal more on speakers, LCD HDTV, etc., i would have been on top of this order from day one and not let it drag out a week before learning there was a hitch.

in summary, Magnolia is definitely a pleasant place and they seem to be a cut above, but this experience indicates that even the best stores are not free from carelessness. when i have a lot of money to spend and put down a good faith in-full payment, i don't appreciate my orders falling off the radar like this.
