That would be better than the Onkyo HTIB..... if you place the speakers in the right spot.

I'd actually recommend you get the 591 or 1712 and put that in your living room. Move the 1312 to the computer.

By the way...... the "surround" channels don't belong in front of you.
But why the 591 or 1712 in the living room? I can do manual adjustments and it has enough power for the Bostons. Also, the 591 or 1712 is the question;

They are both the same price...which is better? They seemingly have identical specs at a glance.

DENON AVR-1712 7.1 A/V Surround Receiver | Accessories4less

DENON AVR-591 5.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver | Accessories4less

Wouldn't I need the audessy thing more to adjust due to my room's small size?

And yes, I got the wall mounting brackets. I figured I'd put them a foot to the left and right up on the wall of my monitor, and then the two others on the back, facing them in mirror

Then either put the center on the wall above my monitor or see if I can fit it where my current center is, which is facing me directly @ my Keyboard and tilt it up.

The 1712 in the living room because it has MultEQ XT. Room calibration is much more important for home theater than gaming. So is volume, and the 1712 has much more power than the 1312.

The 591 is an older, lower end model than the 1712. It has less power, only 5 channels instead of 7, and a lower version of MultEQ.

Ok, 1712 it is, same price.

I'll be picking up the ET Classic 5.1 system + Those wall mounts + That receiver this Saturday when I get my check. + a Sub cable.

Now, one last question; how do I hook the receiver up to my PC?

My Soundcard doesn't have a HDMI connector, but it does had a TOSLINK connection, would that be it?

Yeah, optical will be the best way.
Ok, do I need two optical cables, or just one? I'm not sure how that works. Also any clips for speaker wire to tie it to the wall or should I get a staple gun or something?

These Energy Take 5's come highly recommended, hope they live up to the hype.

The mounts don't come with screws...I don't see any suggested on Monoprice, got any idea?

And are these mounts good for these types of speakers?

Out of these mounts listed here;

What would you suggest for the ET Classic's 5.1?

Pretty poor form putting an Amazon referrer link in a thread like this.

You only need one cable. I don't know what makes you think you may need two.

Don't take offense, but sir you need to calm down. He asked us and I provided a link for a cheaper alternative. Why not buy 2? At least he will have an extra one.

I'm perfectly calm. While he is perfectly free to buy a backup cable as well, he didn't understand how many he needs and your post didn't answer that. I answered it. He only needs one cable.

Ok you are right about that, but what Is wrong with providing a link? Like I said the seller is reliable and has quality stuff. Anyway I know you mean well.

As far as the mounts I would call/email monoprice and see which one would be the right one for your speakers. I would not staple the wires to the wall. Ask them If they have something to cover the wires.

I think it's poor form to be recommending products to someone while attempting to get a cut of the sale price for yourself. But that is just my opinion. I'm sure it doesn't violate the forum rules.

Huh? No.

You posted a link with a referrer ID. The referrer gets a kickback from any sale made by clicking that link.

Perhaps you copied the link from somewhere else and inadvertently posted someone else's referrer ID.

I honestly was searching for one yesterday for one and bought them and thought I'd share Is all. Lets move on please and get back to helping the OP. If you want to have the last word that's up to you I'm not replying unless the OP asks a question.

Go to amazon.com and search for anything. Any link to any item will have a /ref something or other. It's not a referral id in the sense that you're thinking. I certainly have never received any kind of kickback from amazon.

The generic Amazon referrer is sr_1_1. As far as I know anything else is a "real" referral.

I think it depends on how you are searching. I assume sr_1_1 would mean search result 1-1 and if you look at the next item in the list of your results it would be sr_1_2 and so on and so forth. I don't know what all the other crap means but I ALWAYS see ref links on amazon and I certainly can't be bothered to remove them when copying a link.

I already have a TOSLINK cable I bought a few months ago from Monoprice when I was considering a system, I was buying some HDMI cables and figured I'd throw one in, just to have it. Good to know I'm set on that.

I've been eying the Pioneer SP-PK21BS as well. It's supposedly the same price as the Energy Take Classic 5.1's...and sounds better as well.

Only issue is, well, size. They're about 2.5x the size...worried they may be TO big for my room, though the Drivers look nice from what I've seen. I hear the Soundstage is just better.

Energy Take Classic 5.1 Review - Watch CNET's Video Review

I imagine for the size of my room, they would be wasted. I like their design abit better though.

The Pioneers aren't too big for the *room* but they are too big for the configuration.
