Mule,
I think what you really need is a several band active crossover. You can set it to send everything from 30Hz down to the B-4's, then use a channel to send 30-70Hz to a pair of suspension subs (a good 12" driver in an over damped enclosure forward firing of course) and finally 70 Hz and up to your mains. Using separate amps for each, and a parametric Eq on the top to clean up any resonance. This should fill in the gap you have in that lower mid bass region. The parametric Eq will allow you to compensate for the roll off of the 12” in the sealed enclosure. By setting the x over frequencies correctly you should be able to minimize any phase issues in your room, and should sound quite nice.
.....great suggestion, Mac, but I'm already into it with one Paradigm passive unit....if the Cadence X-sub would fit the bill, I'm home....if not, and I seek sealed boxes, I would have to have another passive unit to tailor what I need....it looks like a Cadence sub will be ordered....the reason I have discounted the SVS PB 10 is, it is a larger box geared low for HT mainly, like the V 12 box....I want small tight cannons with the bottom of the signal cut so the cannons won't be asked to produce the lowest lows, and can concentrate on what I want them for, the higher sub range....guys, I've painted a picture possibly that my mains lack badly....that really ain't the case....I just know what cannons can sound and feel like....some may be thinking it's unnatural from a live performance....I say what's natural about watching a one dimensional screen and hearing sounds out beside you and even partially behind you?....both may be a little unnatural, but cool....right?......
.....Mac, I've suffered a true breakthrough on this chicken sauce with this load.....
