Seriously, I have no life.
Apparently that's her nickname amoung the Washington press corp. They are a rather "cojon less" group anyway as they don't their jobs and call her out. There are times I do miss the free for all press conferences of the previous administration.
What her nickname?

It's 'cajone', but if Biden has his handlers screen & limit questions and the length of his briefings, why should they risk being sent off, never to return after asking questions that are prohibited or off-limits?

Imploding police force?

The fish rots from the head- if the City doesn't stop it, the city will die.

I saw a video of a Milwaukee judge who stopped the mother of a suspect from speaking when she started making excuses for his crime and he named the city government, the people in the community & the Mayoral candidates for the upcoming election as being responsible- I was surprised by his comments, but I completely agree with him. I'll post it when I find it.

Calling her Chucky to her face would be rude. As for their behaviour well they might as well work for Putin's press corps. Although it's a bit safer in DC unless some random trucker hits them.

I was wondering why Chucky was mentioned. I think she looks more like Kathy Griffin.

Yeah, the press corps- Frank Zappa would say they put on the brown lipstick before going in for press conferences.

Dear lord. Griffin?
Maybe it's my age but Psaki is an attractive woman. It's just her habitat that is the problem...

Have you seen the price of cars? WRT "more efficient"- it has been over 40 years since 'energy efficient' became a supposed goal of the US loose requirement for automaker's and I'm not impressed with the results. There's nothing that works as a demand and if you look at cars like the Dodge Hellcat, Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro and other 'muscle cars', economy isn''t as important as power. The Hellcat hits 14-21 MPG and with a few aftermarket parts, can reach 840 HP. That's almost six times as powerful as the 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass I had and the fuel economy is about the same.

US automakers need to make cars more efficient- they do a pretty good job on engine reliability but the fuel use isn't great. Another aspect to how well cars perform is users maintaining them and in the US, a huge percentage of the population is too poor to spend money on their car or they spend their money on other things.

Don't expect people to move closer to the larger cities just because they need to drive in- places like Los Angeles are so spread out and the center of the city is so overbuilt that it would be impossible to pile more housing in and honestly, many people would hate living in such high population density- I know I would. Many people in the Los Angeles area drive more than an hour to AND from work- the smart ones drive more efficient cars, but there's no requirement for that.

I agree with you, but making this happen isn't easy.
The thing is, the increase in engine fuel efficiency over the past few decades has been remarkable. But, instead taking advantage of these new technologies to reduce fuel consumption, Americans (and Canadians, to a lesser extent) have simply bought larger, more powerful, vehicles (especially pickups) and negating the increased efficiency. I wonder what effect it would have on overall fuel consumption if the people who drove pickups because they wanted them vice needed them had chosen smaller vehicles...

EU plan to wean itself off Russian gas before the end of this decade, and reduce has demand by two-thirds this year.

>>>
The EU could be entirely free of its Russian gas dependence before the end of the decade, according to a master planreleased Tuesday.

The European Commission said its strategy rests on two pillars: Diversifying the EU’s gas supply to replace Russian imports in the short term, and scaling up the deployment of renewables and energy-saving measures for the long run.

The plan was delayed by a week as the Commission scrambled to rework what was supposed to be a strategy for dealing with sky-high power prices and turn it into a response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Russia supplies about 40 percent of the bloc’s total gas consumption, but the Commission says that with the measures presented Tuesday, the EU “can reach independence from Russian gas well before the end of the decade" and reduce its demand for imports from Russia by two-thirds this year.

Next month, a “gas storage policy” will set out a requirement to fill up gas storage across the EU by at least 90 percent by October 1 each year, according to the communication — up from 80 percent in a previous draft.

The plan is set to be discussed by EU leaders during their meeting in Versailles later this week.

Typical type of post from this forum member as just about anything he links to is questionable.
Think the point of that post was not to draw attention to "Thor the whatever" but to the mini documentary from someone on the ground in Ukraine.

This may have been mentioned in this thread previously, but OSINT sources have been reporting that U.S. B52s have been flying missions over Romania near the boarder with Ukraine. This has been covered to some extend by the MSM (e.g. CNN) so it's not a huge secret, but the OSINT sources provide updated info on the flights much more frequently. How significant is this? I really do not know, but it does seem to be at least in part a message to Putin (i have no inside knowledge, and I'm not a military expert).

Agree with that.
If we do eventually look to limit larger vehicles I vote we start with all the super important rich who drive to environmental conferences and elite politicians who drive around in fleets of large black SUVs like medieval monarchs. Throw in the private jets too.....I think they should pay their fair share..?

You got one of those too, eh?
Yeah, I paid mucho $$$ to send her to university to come back "highly educated". First thing I did was cut her (my) credit card up when she came home.
Life will teach her differently eventually. If not, it will probably mean she struck it rich somehow.
Future is unwritten.
