RTi8s and Voice Matching

I was just given two Polk RTi8s for my birthday and I plan on using them as front L/R. My room is about 16X20 and I have a Yamaha HTR-5240 receiver. The room is carpeted and I have an Infinity PS10 subwoofer.

Do I need to match the front Polks with back, surround, and a center Polk speaker? If not, can anyone make suggestions? Price range is about $1,000 for the rest of the speakers.

Thanks.

Yes you do, especially with Polks. Even the monitor series sound different than the older models. I'd suggest a CSi3 or CSi5 center, and FXi3 or FXi5 for the surrounds. You should be able to find them pretty cheap now that they are a few models old. Otherwise you won't have proper timber matching - extremely important with HT.

I just got some RTI 6's for my rears a few weeks ago and they match my RTI 12's perfectly...I would recommend sticking with the RTI series and cosmetically they are a great match! Why not buy another pair of RTI8's?..would be great for 5 channel stereo.
