Wireless speakers are the prize – the nirvana of a futuristic home theater system. Rocketfish isn't the first on the market with a product that promises to do away with the hassle of having it run wires from the front of the room to the back, but with a price point under $100 and a presence in big box stores like Best Buy it has the face-time to make some people really take a chance and use this method for finally achieving surround sound.

I am using the Rocketfish to add audio to another area of the house using the 2nd zone feature of my receiver. I highly recommend if running cables is not possible or not worth it.

I had a radio shack version of this about a year ago and it hissed and cracked like no tomorrow.

How does this perform?

I didn't have those issues with hum, but I have heard fo others having them. My understanding is that initial shipments had an issue that could affect some systems and that has been fixed through the addition of resistor(s) inside the receiver unit.

No Hum

I have had no hum since using starting to use it. It has shut itself down a few times, though. It appears to be a protection circuit kicking in if there is too much volume getting sent to the unit.
