You should drive right though my City on I-44 in Missouri...
Eh, nevermind.... You actually probably wouldn't.. I'd be a little north. I've driven to Boston a few times and I've never gone the route you're gonna need to take to go through K-ville...

Visit the girlfriend's sister or party with a bunch guys where you might actually win some audio gear...
You're forgetting about the dates. That's next weekend and I'm leaving this weekend.
You're only 7 days and 7 hundred miles off though. ;)

I'd love to get together then if possible. (we might even let Rick join us.:p)
I'll check with my g/f. :D

Knoxville adds 145 miles to the trip but my in laws are great people. We have spent time together before and enjoy each other. That's a relationship that I would like to nurture. I would head north to hear your gear and meet but my balls ... well, you've seen the state they're in. :(

:D

You're worried about your balls??? Loser's wife keeps his balls in a jar in her trophy case. At least she lets him take them out for pictures.:D

In the next couple of days I am going to drive out to Oklahoma City from the Boston/Providence area. My thought is to take I-84 from Hartford to I-81 and head south to Knoxville where I can stop in at my g/f's sister's to visit with her family and rest up for the second leg of the drive.

Right off the top of my head I can think of 4 members that I would like to meet and visit with that are on the way. Our schedules and my course will probably make this a no-go but I just thought that I would mention it. I planned to leave here Sunday at midnight so that I could get to Knoxville around supper time on Monday but I'm flexible and willing to let this sort of take it's own course ... so long as it doesn't take me a month to get to Oklahoma. :)

Oh yeah, route tips and tricks would be appreciated as well. Thanks.
If you go towards PDawg let me know. I'm in the same area.

But I do have one concern. Why are you going to OKC?:)

I wonder how the trip is going.

Alex needs to stop at a place with free wi-fi and fill us in! :)

I made it in last night. Getting to Knoxville was almost 18 hours because I left with 2 hours sleep in me and had to nap twice. From there to OKC was 14 hours. I'm here visiting my sister and helping her do stuff to the house. I'm pretty sure the transmission in the Focus gave up the ghost just as I was getting in the vicinity of her house. I should be here 3 weeks to a month. I need to get fed and rested. I'm a mess.

What time? Kind of an afternoon pool type thing? Speedos okay? :D
I'm European so it's cool. ;)

Actually Sat. is the anniversary of my brother in laws death and there is some sort of get together here for that. I'll be busy being my sister's brother that day. Another time then.

On my way back I may get a room around Doug's area to get some rest and then spend the next day visiting him, Rick and you while I make my way back to RI.

Thanks man. The first leg of the trip was done in flip flops and comfy clothes because I'm good with my outlaws thinking that I'm a bum in need of shelter but I tried to look good for the second part of the trip because I wanted to look like I was capable of anything when I got here. I had gel in my hair and everything. :)

They'll sound better. :D

I saw some neat stuff on the way down that I wanted to mention. I-40 just west of Knoxville is some of the nicest highway that I have ever seen. It almost invites you to go fast. Virginia has more cops out giving tickets than I have ever seen before anywhere ... ever. I contemplated checking out The Blue Ridge Parkway until I realized that I was too wiped out to enjoy it but the 5 or 10 miles I spent off of the interstate was pretty Deliverance-esque. They looked at me funny and a black lady called me baby in that Virginia accent. I liked it. Memphis has a pyramid. I saw like three different clusters of Corvettes all going east on I-40 ... I want one. I saw a guy doing a stand up type wheelie on his bike out on the high way ... I miss my bikes. I saw the prettiest girl ever sitting in the passenger seat of some putz's car out in them there hills. I think she wanted me ... at least she would have if I had registered on her radar. The cops in Virginia are very sneaky too.

Oh yeah. I packed enough food for the first leg of the trip so no fast food but on the second half I had McDonalds because they have decent coffee. I had three McFake McFish and it made me feel McSick. I haven't had any tummy issues from food in 20+ years. I think I'm going to McF^%&ing avoid eating there in the McFuture.

Glad that you made it, Alex! I finally realize who you went to visit. I was clearly profoundly confused the first time that I read this thread.

Speedos okay?
Hey, guess the first image that comes up on Google when you search for "monkey in speedos."

Yep, that's right. :D
