Rerun Audessey & dampened sound

Hello,
I have three decent size windows in my HT and recently added thick blackout curtains with the liner curtain as well. It seems like it has dampened the sound tremendously.

In this situation is it necessary to rerun Audessey or no? Either way, can you please explain why? Thanks in advance.

Well that would have changed the acoustics of the room drastically. You had a lot of reflected sound especially in the higher end of the spectrum which you now eliminated.
So, if course you have to rerun Audyssey.

The answer is yes! Although curtains cannot fully eliminate all sound, block-out curtains can help to noticeably minimise and absorb noise.

Thank you so much @TLS Guy and @leonawright for helping and responding so quickly.

I had no idea I had to re-run Audessey. What made me think of it was that the dialogue and sound were a lot more clearer but the bass sounded a bit off when played at -20db, which wasn't the case prior to installing the curtains.

When you change the room acoustics or speakers or speaker placement you would generally re-run Audyssey. Then again if you like how it sounds now....

I'd always suggest experimenting rather than just follow one method....see what happens, you might find a preference that isn't in line with procedure.
I might do some experimenting. Re-running Audessey, toeing in towers (they were slightly in before but I'll toe them in more), level match, keep the crossovers to what I had, etc.

Might try a different crossover....
