Recommend me some speakers?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site. I'd like to start with an introduction before you guys answer my question. I just joined after lurking for about 2 hours, reading a good number of articles. I gotta say, that this community has impressed me with its knowledge. So much so that I actually decided to register so I can learn from you guys! :)

So, my question is:
What are the best home theater speakers (preferably 5.1 channels) that I can get for around ~$1,000 to 1,500? I was looking at the Klipsch Cinema 10, but that's because I don't really know how to "build" a system from scratch. If you guys could help me set up a system, that would be much appreciated! The room I'm going to be putting the system in is about... well, maybe 20'x20' or smaller. It's a relatively small room...

PS: Sadly, the speakers I currently have are the Logitech Z-2300's because I was on a tight budget (and I had no idea how to really pick out speakers)

I've got a receiver, but I was hoping to include the sub within that price range
PS: The receiver is a Denon, but I've never used it since it belongs to my dad. However, he never uses it either, so I'm sure he won't mind if I nab it from him. This whole speaker system is actually going to end up being for him, along with a LCD... :)

There are many 5.1 systems out there to choose from.Questions asked would be:Is this mainly for hT or will you be listening to music as well? Your room size, you said 20x20 but then stated it's a small room . 20x20 is not really a small room.12x10 8x7 those are small rooms. Do you want towers or bookshelf speakers? Are cables and stands included inyour price? What is your Denon model#so we can be better informed to give suggestions? Ok sorry for the questions but it will be very helpful in assisting you in your choice. I would suggest these http://www.aperionaudio.com/product/NEW-Intimus-4T-Hybrid-SA,186,71,459.aspx
or these http://www.aperionaudio.com/product/New-Intimus-5B-Harmony-SA,187,71,465.aspx

Oh, the questions are alright :) I actually overshot the size of my room. Probably closer to 12x10, so sorry about that. I'll be using it mainly as an HT system, but I'd love to have a good music system also. Along with the occaisional PS3 gaming (which is what I'll be using for movies too, go figure). Cables and stands aren't included in the price, but they shouldn't be too much of a problem for me to purchase. I'll be able to provide the Denon model tomorrow, because it's hidden in the very back of my garage, and I can only see it when I open the garage door. Considering it's currently 2:45 AM, there won't be much light (and too many creepy crawlies) for me to work with...

I would then seeing your room size you would be good with one of the Aperion packages. There are many out there to choose from but I have heard quite a few and lately these are really nice. Also the Ascend Acoustics CMT 340 with a CBM 170 and a pair of CBM 170se shipped will run you about $1078. Add a sub for $5 to 600 and thats a good one too.

Hmm... would you recommend a 10" driver for the sub or 12"? Considering the size of the room, I think a 10" would be fine... as I currently have an 8" driver, and it can shake the walls already...

The Aperions need a bit of power as they have a sensitivity of 86db. The Ascends may be better suited as you stated you were going to use the Denon and not knowing what kind of power the Denon pushes I would be hard pressed to give you an answer....

Whatever the best suited to your room and budget would be my suggestion.I agree a 10" would be fine.

I would also take a gander at the SVS 5.1 system that comes with a sub *can't post links, because I don't have 5 post counts, but this IS my fifth post... :p*
wow that subwoofer looks massive! No biggie for me though, I don't have a wife that'll nag me about how it looks. Just very satisfied ears! :)

I really like the Ascends or the Aperions myself. Although the SVS are very nice as well.............do a little searching around on this forum and you will get a better idea. Its really late here on the west coast of the US so I am out. More folks will comment tomorrow. Best of luck to you. Hope I could be of help to you.....
