I avoid Best Buy whenever possible. Their sales people seem to always have a brand that they want to push which makes me think they push the ones with the highest spiff and not what's best for the customer. I've had to practically drag them away from what they were pushing to what I wanted to listen to.

I also hate BB's non-sale prices. My first choice is always Amazon because I have Amazon Prime and because they pay return shipping on defective items. But I also shop at B&H Photo, Vanns, and Newegg. I had a very pleasant experience with Newegg last night when working with them to return a Denon that I ordered earlier in the week. They even waved the restocking fee.
I have never had a bad experience with Best Buy Magnolia stores. Ive bought all my equipment there and have never had a problem. I usually look up the product that I want to get and then see if its at Best Buy and get it there. Since Ive done my homework on product I can get in and get out without any problems, plus if there is a problem I dont have to ship it back wait several days for them to receive it and then return me a new one or get an exchange. So for every receiver that ppl have mentioned I have been able to find on Best Buy Magnolia for same price except the referb onces. Im not concerned where I get product as long as it is the right prduct for me.

So I went to my local Best Buy Magnolia and checked out some of the receivers that were mentioned. They are having a deal on the Deon Avr3312ci for $950, and Yamaha RX-A1010 for $850 both brand new and in box and there is also a Pioneer VSX-53 open box for $800. Out of these 3 which one do you feel would be the best buy? All 3 have manufacture warranties and I can also get a 4 yr warranty to.

I say pick up the Yamaha or the Denon, and skip the extended warranty.

I am going to the local Best Buy Magnolia today to look at a RX-A2010, hoping they have a sale price on them as I would prefer to buy it locally, than on-line

Im really thinking about the Denon as Ive had Denon in the past and was happy with them before even when I knew nothing about home audio, I could only imagine what they are like now. Why would you not get the extended warranty for 4yrs?

If the product is going to fail, it will most likely due so within the first year, when the factory warranty is still in effect. It's sometimes difficult to get the companies to make good on the extended warranties too, all they are good for is lining the pockets of the people selling them. I really like Denon as well, but it may be a little more difficult to setup than the yamaha, however if you know what you are doing, then you shouldn't have any issues, and if you do that's what we are here for.

Thank you for all your info. I think Im going to go for the Denon. It sounds like a good choice. The only thing is Ive been reading about it and have noticed that a lot of ppl are saying that the Denon has lots of problems tho so that concernes me a little thats why I was looking into the warrany. If I get the warranty it would be through Best Buy and they are usually good about honering their warranties. I hope its kinda easy to setup cause I had a hell of a time trying to set up my Pioneer Elite with my Def Tech and that was a 5-6 yr old receiver with the mic thing too. I hope these new receivers are better and easier to use.
