The huge DCX manual will have diagrams for all the different connection options as far as speakers go.

Also here is a link on how to setup the calibrate the mic and get the DCX up and running with REW. http://www.hometheatershack.com/roomeq/ You will connect the ECM8000 to the 0404 using xlr cable to any of the two mic inputs. But that link will have all the info you need on how to get everything setup properly so he can start mixing.
