OK, I have been looking for something to power my speakers and i have decided on separate amps. I need the most feature rich receiver for 600 or under (price slightly flexible). I don't care about power. Also if you can find a pre-amp for this price i will jump on it but i haven't been able to find one. Sorry if this is a repeated question but i at least did a search or two. Thanks for the help and hopefully i will be able to help future new comers lol. I would also like to hear some opinions on video processing but i mainly care about the sound. Also if possible it should have 2 sub outs... maybe the RX-867. One more thing i can wait awhile because if emotiva or someone is putting out something new i will wait.
P.S all i have right now are the speakers and i want a dayton amp.

I assume you've looked at the UMC-1 $700 with a $100 gift card and 40% off your next upgrade. The XMC will be out the end of the first quarter (so they say) but will cost more then your budget. If that's not what you're looking for then I'd look at a discontinued Denon or other that has all the latest formats but might not have HDMI 1.4. I have a Denon 2808 which is fairly good with an amp. Not as good as the UMC but it will do the trick.

From the online chatter I'd say the UMC is now stable and worth checking out. for what it's worth mine has always worked fine.

It dosent have network and the usb is updates only i think. Anyway i will look at what you recommended but the 867 looks like it has all the features i need.

For under $600 the Yamaha RX-V667 packs the latest features including HDMI1.4. If you don't need 3D then you could look for deals for the Denon AVR-3310 or even the older Marantz SR8002.

As for video processor, many people think they must have ABT or REON. To me it is mostly hype and hearsay that gets spread around and exaggerated in the process. The fact is that it matters little unless you enjoy watching synthetic test materials or you watch DVDs on huge (>60") screens. Even then I believe the difference between those top notice VPs in AVR and those in a good BDP and/or flat panels are not that noticeable and it is the quality of the transfer that has the most impact on the upscaled PQ.

That being said, if VP is important to you then go for the 3310, assuming you can do without HDMI 1.4/3D.

I myself have a Pioneer Elite VSX-32 as a pre pro. My amplifiers are Emotiva XPA-2 and XPA-5 and i'm extremely please. I highly recommend the VSX-32.
