I was wondering if it is okay to light the fireplace while our rear projection tv is on. It seems that the heat/smoke may damage the LCD screen (its an LCD projection tv). Do you guys think its okay?

Where is the TV in relation to the fireplace? Don't remember if you mentioned it before;)
If it is not near it, it should be fine. But, if you thing the heat and smoke may damage it while on, it will be damaged even when off:D

haha ya i know, uh it is about 2 feet away, to the side, kind of behind the fireplace. well if its true that heat or smoke from a fireplace can damage the tv then I know it is close enough. I would think alot of people have fireplaces in their tv room and their tv is okay?

Well, the heat would not be an issue behind it, nor the smoke, unless your fireplace smokes a lot. Older TV has a glass type of front that can be washed regularly. Not sure what the front is on a LCD type TV. But, if that LCD Tv has glass or rigid plastic, then it would be fine.

I think the smoke would bother you more than the TV where you are playing it.:D

If your fireplace smokes enough to damage your TV then you have other problems. ;)
