I was wondering if it is okay to light the fireplace while our rear projection tv is on. It seems that the heat/smoke may damage the LCD screen (its an LCD projection tv). Do you guys think its okay?

haha ya i know, uh it is about 2 feet away, to the side, kind of behind the fireplace. well if its true that heat or smoke from a fireplace can damage the tv then I know it is close enough. I would think alot of people have fireplaces in their tv room and their tv is okay?mtrycrafts said:Where is the TV in relation to the fireplace? Don't remember if you mentioned it before![]()
If it is not near it, it should be fine. But, if you thing the heat and smoke may damage it while on, it will be damaged even when off![]()
Well, the heat would not be an issue behind it, nor the smoke, unless your fireplace smokes a lot. Older TV has a glass type of front that can be washed regularly. Not sure what the front is on a LCD type TV. But, if that LCD Tv has glass or rigid plastic, then it would be fine.5.1 DTS guy said:haha ya i know, uh it is about 2 feet away, to the side, kind of behind the fireplace. well if its true that heat or smoke from a fireplace can damage the tv then I know it is close enough.
