I agree. This would help eliminate variables. I’m still a little curious about the soundtrack selection though. I’ve seen goofy things like this with decoding, but iirc it was PC related. I could be completely wrong here though...
Hmmmm I'll do that in a sec but when I turned on the reciever it's on Dolby now and no noise from the crowns wht would it be there one time and not the next? I think it might be a decoding issue but I'll try that in a sec I'm going to try the Sony suggestion you mentioned first

To do that on my Sony, you set digital audio output to the auto setting.
Interesting. On my PS3 and Sony in my BR I can select pcm, or bitstream. They are a few years old so maybe that’s why?

I'm kind off nervous to play anything I wonder why it happened in the first place?

Not sure but hope it stays good. Did the Atmos logo show up on the Denon?
Yes. Does it say Atmos?

Also, I noticed you both have DRC set to auto. I would turn it off unless you have a reason to use Dynamic range compression. Can’t think of a good reason. If you have people in the house that you don’t want to disturb, Dolby volume or Audysseys dynamic volume are probably easier to activate and disable.
