I think it might be a decoding issue but I'll try that in a sec I'm going to try the Sony suggestion you mentioned first

Also, I noticed you both have DRC set to auto. I would turn it off unless you have a reason to use Dynamic range compression. Can’t think of a good reason. If you have people in the house that you don’t want to disturb, Dolby volume or Audysseys dynamic volume are probably easier to activate and disable.
