Hey Adam...
I appreciate the info! The Prius wins in terms of gas mileage versus the others in my price range, but the performance and looks lose. That, and I can't see myself as one of those pretentious a-holes that speeds up to cut someone off, only to slow down and act like some self-proclaimed speed limit enforcer.

I do know a family down the street with a Prius that are really nice, though.

Hey Adam. You seem bored. If you wouldn't mind, take a look at this EES parametric table that I poorly pasted into a reply window and tell me why it isn't working. Thanks!

I just assumed he got in trouble with the Mafia and they were putting out cigars in his eyes. I didn't want to ask for fear of putting him in further danger.

I clicked it. I am scarred for life. Do it, Adam. I actually think it will make you very happy. You sick bastard.

I just figured that he'd spent a few minutes trying to catch up on this thread.

[Dang it! I was typing this and missed a commercial on the Fusion Hybrid.]

Good golly. That's about the sickest picture that I've seen. A girl, a cat (alternate name), and an image of something that gets stuffed. Well played.

Strube, it's been a long time since I used EES.

I'm assuming that the code calculates or is provided one of the variables in that table, and then it uses the table to figure out the other variables. Correct? If so, make sure that the variable values being submitted to the table don't exceed the defined values (unless it has an algorithm for going outside of the bounds, such as linear extrapolation). Also, if it allows values outside of the defined values, make sure that none of the dependent variable values would lead to calculation errors (such as having an absolute temperature go below zero).

Thanks man. I was just kidding - I wouldn't expect you to remember EES, more than likely because it sucks so much @ss that you would have blocked it out of your mind.

I think my problem is limits on one or more of my variables, or their guess values. I have 207 variables and 205 equations, and I assign 2 in a parametric table. When I run the table, it works for 90 out of the 120 runs, but has erroneous results for 26 of those and errors such that it won't solve at all for 4.

As you can imagine, it is kind of a nightmare to debug with that many variables, especially because some runs work and some don't, with no obvious cause as to why the ones that aren't working aren't working. Unfortunately, this has pretty much put a hold on writing, which is a serious problem. Also, unfortunately, due to the nature of a Masters degree, I am the expert on this crap, so I can't get much help from anywhere.

Sure, now I know you're kidding...after I looked through it all in Excel.

;) :D I was happy to look at it. I'd still say check the things that I mentioned.

As for the Master's - you're one of the experts. PhD's are supposed to do something groundbreaking, but Master's can repeat the same stuff that someone else has done. At least, that's my impression.

Sorry man, thanks for checking it out - I didn't intend for you to do that - didn't you see the winky face at the bottom :)? Anyhoo, since you did look at it, you probably saw where the efficiencies went to 100 and some other variables pegged out at their limit values. That is what I am having a hell of a time diagnosing. I will check on your other recommendations though.

Yeah, PhD's don't use EES...or at least shouldn't.

From my background research, at least from a published works standpoint, I am the only one looking at what I am looking at for this particular portion of my research. Of course that doesn't mean there aren't others doing it, they just haven't published anything about it.

I made a fun car thread. :)
