You can keep up with his adventure at his thread here. :)
I have contracted a serious case of Swine Lethargy. I don't want to read the entire thread. Can someone just give me a Reader's Digest version of Where In the World is Alex now?

Mmmm. I'd use the one with Marilyn Monroe buried in the bun, but I think it might not make it past the censors.

It's actually Norman, OK. I'll be here for at least another two or three weeks. I haven't met anybody yet. I really want to see some other peoples gear.

Oklahoma City.
Thanks, Adam. In spite of my terminal lethargy, I did manage to read the last couple of pages of the OK trip thread. Man, Alex...you gotta pick fights with women your own size from now on. ;)

Today was the second day of a local blues festival. It has been outstanding so far.

These people are amazing musicians. Tonight the headliner was Susan Tedeschi. All I could think the whole time is, "Why the hell is this brilliant group of people playing on a tiny stage to much less than 1000 people when Miley Cyrus and all of those other fake, manufactured, talentless, worthless b***hes can sell out an entire f***ing stadium?"

I got to thinking that they probably enjoy playing these small shows, but I don't think they would turn down a chance to sell 20,000 tickets at $50-$150 each if they could...

Tomorrow Derek Trucks (who is actually Tedeschi's husband, and nephew of one of the Allman Brothers Band members) is headlining. It should be good. I am going to be wind-burned pretty bad by then - I am already. It has been a bit breezy, but worth it. :D

But of course! I sprang for the three day pass. Even the lesser-known bands that are playing earlier each of the three days are awesome! :)

I've found it's better to be in a small venue than a large stadium usually. Something about being personal with folks makes it great.

But to answer your questions I don't think Miley Cyrus is talentless. I think she just performs a different taste in music. Not yours or mine, but the next generations. Every generation has it's own stuff. I don't understand it, but then again I'm a terminator kid.

That there is seriously good music...and I'm seriously jealous. S.T. and Derek Trucks are great. Didn't Derek play at one time for ABB?

We get nothing but crap bands out here in the boonies...Indian Casino circuit of Wayne Newton, etc. Although...we did get to see the old man, Charlie Daniels last year. He can still rock & roll!
