Really Boring Stuff Only III: Resurrection

My 2yo cat is in the emergency. They still don't know what is wrong with him. He became very lethargic, which is highly unusual for him at his age. We scheduled an appointment with his vet, on Fri, but he continued to be unchanged so I took him to emergency yesterday morning and he is still there and still sick. They found something on his bladder and he is not urinating, so they are focusing on that right now. He was perfectly normal in the morning, by the afternoon he was hiding and sleeping all day, which is out of character because he is super social. So when he was still like that yesterday, I took him in.

My thoughts are with you guys.

We lost two of our little friends last year. Marmalade was expected after almost 3yrs of living with a heart condition. The other, Poppy, completely blindsided us.

Cats are very good at hiding problems.

Vet just called and said they had been giving him antibiotics because it seemed viral and was affecting his bladder. He responded to it, so he is out of the woods, but still recovering. They did additional bloodwork to see if they can identify what exactly it was. They'll monitor him and release him tonight or tomorrow morning.

I went to see him. His white blood cell count is still low, but his fever is gone. They wanted to keep him overnight one more day to monitor him and keep him on the antibiotics. He's looks to be doing well and like he wanted to come home. I should be picking him up tomorrow.

My cat is finally home. His med seems to be out of stock there and at my pharmacy, so I need to call around. He is chilling right now, trying to adjust to being home. The other cat is dying to see him lol. They did one final test for Bartonella aka cat scratch fever, which they believe this was and we should find that out in the next day or so. That is odd, because the other cat is fine, and they don't go outside.

Yup. A week later, he is starting to play and be his normal get-into-everything self.

That type of assist motor has been around for a long time. I think some riders were already caught with them up to 10 years ago.

I feel your pain. Thought I had a pulled hip flexor. Turns out my hip is completely shot and just grinding away. So a replacement at 57 seems early. Not that I have been easy on this shell.

Missed you in N.S. again. We were there from July 2 to July 11 visiting our daughter for a few days while staying in Timberlea and then spent some time in Digby touring the area including Brier Island and Annapolis Royal. I need to make an effort to try and hook up next time.
