iPad Pro had a small scratch in the screen. Shipping it back tomorrow, should have a replacement by Tuesday.

Man the summer is flying by. Less than a month until the soccer season starts. Whoever decided that the 10th of August was a good time to start preseason stuff can eff off. Applications away!!!!

I recently discovered alcohol may be bad for your health and I cut mine way back.

My drinking of whisky has been out of control since I first injured my Achilles's back in November. I had my annual exam 2 weeks ago and my labs were jacked up. I think not being able to train as I normally do, not eating like I normally do and drinking 4x the amount of normal all plays into what I saw. I didn't believe the validity of the test and went and had them redone only to find they were true.

I didn't quit drinking but I have paused it and abstained the past 2 weeks, started back on my normal diet and I can now lift weights and do light cardio again so I have been for 2 weeks.

I won't do another full blood panel for 2.5 more months as most things change slowly but my fasting glucose has come down from 138 avg to 114 avg already.

I am an "all or nothing" personality so I need to work on that but my plan is to get everything back on track and then just drink a glass of wine with dinner and stop the 2-4 Old Fashion's or neat whisky's per night.

Who would have thunked alcohol was bad for you? They should put a warning label on it or something....:D
OK, there may really be an issue with alcohol being bad for you. Now I am going on 3 weeks with none and my fasting blood sugar is 109 and my blood pressure is running 106/70. My BP has always been borderline at around 138-145/ 80-84. I am really ready to see how my other panels may have changed.

First iPad Pro had a little scratch in the screen that affected the pixels behind it so I had to send it back. Ordered a new one that should be here today along with the keyboard. Case I ordered I had to reroute to my parents house since I'll be visiting them when it is supposed to be delivered.

In other news, I have a summer class today. 3 hours, plus I already completed an online portion.

Based on all this other news in this thread, I'm thinking I should probably go to the doctors. I haven't gone in a couple years. It would be interesting to see what my blood pressure and cholesterol is.

This is why I leave my bathroom door closed these days...

That, and he's just as happy splashing around in the toilet.

It's normally best to ignore your health. There is a fine line between being healthy and increasing your nursing home years...

I've attended a couple of retirement functions over the last few weeks and there will be more coming over the next few months. I'm of an age (51) where I can see retirement on the horizon, but I'm ambivalent about it. On one hand I can't wait to get out of the drudgery, but on the other, it's like wanting to be closer to that big dirt nap.

In my experience, you reflect fondly on every phase of life... cherishing the good and laughing or bragging about the bad. So my advice: Enjoy your current phase, whatever it is. 20 years from now, you will remember it as "the good 'ol days".

Yeah, I shouldn't be in too much of a hurry. My job is relatively stress-free and I'm paid well enough for what I do. But, the routine does a get a bit dull. I know, I know - be careful what I wish for...:D

I'm in no hurry to get to retirement age... if money would allow I'd retire now. I like to eat dinner a 4 in the afternoon.
