It sounds like you are sold on a 12". If you anticipate a lot of bevels, I would also look at which saw makes bevel adjustments easier. Accuracy is NOT guaranteed, you'll need a bevel gauge for that. They're all designed for construction where nothing is ever square.
Well, at this point, the extra capacity is worth it over a little bit of a loss in accuracy. If it's really that bad I can always add a 10" saw later on.

I always double check the blade setting if I'm beveling, measure twice cut once, right?

More speaker building, plus general tasks. In the future I'll use for any number of things (additions, decks, baseboard, etc). Whatever happens to come up in addition to speaker building.

I may just have to end up doing the buy and try method. Maybe buy both and return the other. That was the thing, when I went to try the store models (which seemed 100% better set up in this HD) the DeWalt lock down cocked things up a touch and the Bosch "screw" didn't move a mm when tightened.

At this point, I think I'd rather have the extra capacity. Throw in a forrest blade and blade stiffener and it should keep things about as accurate as I need them to be. That was the other thing. When I started yanking on that Bosch laterally, this one didn't budge like the last one. I have to say, that the ability to push the saw right up against the wall is appealing since this is going to me 99% shop saw.
I've used 10" blades on my 12" Dewalt, so that shouldn't be a show stopper and I've put the blade in backwards to cut vinyl siding and non-ferrous metals.
Besides my Dewalt 12" chop box I've had for many years (but you want a slide) two saws that I like and would recommend your consideration:
The Bosch 4410 and the Makita LS1016 both 10" sliders.
As far as long miter cuts, the best accuracy will be found with a table saw.
Good luck and be careful out there.
Edit: A buddy owns both saws and I've used them.

I don't know if it's the fatigue or the Guinness, but I have no idea what you're talking about.
My guess was - "Dumb and Dumber To."

I don't think it was fatigue or the beer. I think that you're brain just wouldn't accept the fact that anyone would watch that.

I wish that I could see Alex's face (don't start) when I say this: As of yesterday, I can now transfer ownership of my Vine items.

I almost feel bad for the FoFo. It wasn't really meant to pull a trailer.

:D I figured that you might be...

I am going to have to pay tax, but it's still unclear how they are going to determine the fair market value for reporting to the IRS. Looks like consumables (food, pet food, toiletries) are going to be valued at $0, but I'll find out more once they start actually doing this on Wednesday.

I just signed up for a scaffolding erectors class. The class will enable me to keep doing what I been doing for the last 30 years but now I'll get to waste about 32 hours spread out across 6 days to do it. I'm not bitter though. I didn't have anything better to do those Saturdays and evenings anyways.

Hope everything went well.
Thanks. She is doing well. She was able to go home after one day instead of two. She says the pain is less than before which is very good news.

On the not so good news. The turntable that I purchased was damaged because the guy did not tie down the tonearm properly. Pi$$ed after waiting two weeks because he shipped it to the wrong person to begin with. Arrg.

The new amp did show up and it is shiny.

I stayed home from work today to be here when UPS delivers my new TV. Just about 2:30, and no truck, yet. However, it's beginning to sprinkle and I can see a storm heading this way. I can probably stop expecting the truck until the storm hits...

So if you were to start getting chest pains, would you try to just ride it out until it became like unbearable or would you immediately seek help at the risk of looking like a hypochondriac sissy? :D

Stop pouring, got sunny...still no truck. The storm is rolling back in.

Just thought that I'd keep you all up to date on the saga. :D
