I woke up early this morning and had a fright that I'd forgotten to pay my property taxes. Well, I had :), but they aren't due until December 31. Now I just need to go get stamps so that I can send them in...
You live in Arizona. I thought they celebrated tax avoidance there. You could be deported for paying it ahead of time.

I decided a four day weekend would suit me just fine, catching up with some episodes from ROME the HBO series and simply enjoying "my" time.
A Great Christmas with Family and an outstanding weekend to follow, I Love Life.

Congrats on the relaxation, Rob! Enjoy. As a follow up on my TV, I've grown to love the picture (still not a huge fan of the filter when I get close, but when I'm sitting away from it, it's beautiful). I'll be contacting Samsung to see if they can help eliminate this buzz.

Still waiting on photos of your new bad boy... :)

Heater update - the company got back to me, and I can only hook up one of the heating elements if I want. Woohoo! I've got two 240V, 50A lines available already to check it out...unfortunately, one of those is my AC unit...and the other is in my kitchen. I don't really want to run hoses through my kitchen. :D I don't have any 240V lines in my garage at all, which kind of surprised me. The third 240V line that I have goes to my dryer, which might work well - it's only 30A, but if I keep the load down, it should be fine.

I'm feeling better about this, that's for sure. I also realized that a number of houses, including both of my neighbors, have their electrical boxes on the side of the garage pretty near the water heater. Mine just happens to be on the other side of my house from the garage, which is a decently more involved install for the electrical lines.

Working ten straight days this is the fifth. Long way to go. It's pretty slow, the hospital is totally full so not many new admissions to need work ups. Lots of old folks in with the flu. Little for a radiologist to do...

Do you get paid extra for working the holidays? My sister in law used to be a nurse, but I thought that she ended up working the holidays because she didn't have enough seniority.

I think that I'm going to try and use that water heater tomorrow. If you don't hear from me on Sunday, you'll know that it went pretty badly.

Earlier in the week, Niki and I were almost to our parking spot near the park when a coyote showed up on the sidewalk. I stopped the car in the middle of road (not a busy road). Knowing what would happen, I rolled up Niki's window a little bit so that she couldn't fit through and then pointed it out to her. Yep, she lost her s**t. That girl hardly ever barks, but she sure does when she sees coyotes. The coyote trotted down the sidewalk past us, then another one showed up...and then what appeared to be their pup. Pretty awesome to see them. Niki was quite excited to sniff around once we parked and got out.

Nope it's call being on call and it's part of the salary. No duty hours limits like the interns and residents get when you are grown up.

We get coyotes in Maryland too. My dogs are too small to defend themselves but we're pretty well fenced in. They don't look like Wile E....

Up near where we saw the coyotes (which is where we typically park) a couple of days ago, we saw another pooch. The two folks walking that dog had it sit down, and then Niki just went nuts. She almost never reacts much to other dogs, but she was just like a puppy. Bouncing around, squatting in that play stance, and just being very playful. The guy asked if she was a girl, and then said that a breeder had told them that older girl dogs do that because they can sense he's an unneutered male. I guess Niki could tell that he was a playa.

Today, Niki saw a dog with different people at a place a few miles from there and went all nuts again. I asked if he was unneutered, and they said yes. I thought, "huh, must be right." They then said that a breeder had told them that older females do that because they know he's not neutered. Hmmm, sounds familiar. I told them that I'd just heard that from another couple...long story short, it was one of the women's husband and daughter walking the same dog a few miles away. :)

My older female loves big male dogs. Always wants to play. One more head CT to read then home. Do it all over again tomorrow...

I can't wait to get back home to MD. I don't look forward to returning to work, but I do look forward to fiddling with my HT system and getting everything calibrated now that the extra subs are in the system.

I'm already sore from posting. It's been a REALLY long time since I'd throw down 100+ posts a day.

Yes that too. That will allow me to use the "old" Sammy in the HT room, although I don't know what that means for the Panny. No one seems to want the old Sammy or the Panny or the Aragon or the Cinepro 600 or the Epson or the screen.

So that's what they're calling it these days. "Posting"
