I understand that video cable (including component cable) should be 75 ohm coax. A supplier told me that an RCA connectors can't do better than 50 ohms. Does anyone know if this is true?

RCA plug impedance

The link you sent me only adds to my confusion. Canare claims that most other
RCA connectors aren't 75 ohms, they are in fact as low as 25 ohms. So how can I tell when I buy them.

don't sweat it.

You won't notice any problems using any RCAs you find as long as they are securely attached to the cables..

Thanks: I have a small buisness on the side helping people set up their A/V equipment. Most of my customers have just come from Future shop or Best buy realise when they get home they don't know how to set it up. I usually find a mass of wires jammed behind the stand. I spend a couple of hours cleaning up and seperating wires. When I'm done it looks nice and works better. It bugs me to see how people get ripped off on wire. I've had people return monster cable and buy mine and actually saved more than my parts and labor. These aren't audiophiles. I want to offer them good solid quality at a good price. I just need to know what I'm telling them is true. I've ordered some Knukoncepts Krystal Komponent Video Kable and Audio Kable. Am I making a good choice for the average person?

Yes, I have some KnuKonceptz stuff myself. It seems to be very high quality and performs the way I want it to. For the average person, they'll work fine. If someone wants "reference quality", order some stuff from Blue Jeans for them. Blue Jeans is studio-level.
