Questions relative to the various factors influencing sound absorption

I am having a neverending discussion with chatGPT and it is sometimes contradictory. Especially when it comes to wood, what I try to understand is that increasing density can either be absorptive or reflective depending on various factors like porosity and smoothness of the surfaces. But density tends to decrease flexibility and flexbility is also good for absorption while hardness makes the material less capable to transform soundwaves into heat. So it is sort of a combinaison of factor and you can't predict with density alone if a material will be more absorptive or more reflective :

Density
Porosity
Flexibility
Smoothness of the surface

What I understand and please correct me if I am wrong, is that density is wanted but can only increase absorption if combined with other favorable factors, or should I say with only one other single factor, porosity.

This has been researched for many decades- search for the available info and read info on manufacturer websites.

Is chatGPT similar to Quora? If so, leave it alone- most of the questions and answers are BS.
