I'm auditioning a Pioneer DV-48av, and am having a couple problems. I'm curious if others have experienced the same, or if they may be unique to this particular unit.
1. When playing SACDs, there is a click or snap audible through the speakers between the tracks of some discs. My Peter Gabriel 1-4 discs, D&D Layla, and second disc of the NIN Downward Spiral special edition all do this, but I've got others such as Dark Side of the Moon and Police (Ghost and Sync) discs that do not. I'm using a two channel analog connection from the player to my stereo integrated amp. The click is not heard when playing rebook CDs or DVD-As. Only SACDs. I've had a Denon 2910 as well as a couple other players that did not produce a click between tracks of these same discs, so either there's something wrong with this particular unit, or the model in general.
2. Why is it that I can't find a player that has a silent transport??? Is that really asking too much in a player less than $500? Why on earth would I want to listen to whirring/chirping coming from the player while I'm trying to enjoy a movie or music? I've tried many players over the past year and listened to many more in the shops and can't find one that has a quiet transport. It's ridiculus. Any recommendations?
Thanks for any replies to either question!
