Question on newer TV's and rear surround Hisense 75 U8

Hopefully this is not a dumb question, my manual says I can hook up speakers via Bluetooth. The 75 U8 is in the bedroom and the U8 series actually has decent speakers with a subwoofer built in. I don't have room for a true surround sound system. I want to hook up a small pair of wireless rear surround Bluetooth speakers. Can this be done through the TV or do I have to buy a soundbar etc when the TV already has decent enough speakers. Thank you to anyone who responds.

You must be easy to please. I would say that TV is a real con. It is 2.1.2. From what I can tell that means stereo speakers in the back of the TV, and two upward firing ones somewhere, and what they call a sub in the TV, the latter a total impossibility.

What the TV does have is the ability to connect to a receiver via ARC eARC or a digital cable. That is your best bet. The TV does have the ability to connect wirelessly to speakers using the WISA system. So you would need WISA certified speakers. This system has never really caught on, even though it is probably the best wireless speaker system.

I fail to understand how anyone could conceive a TV like that as having decent sound. That seems a step below a soundbar, which are also horrid contraptions.

I think you would be best served with two decent left and right speakers and a sub. Everyone has room for that. This idea of producing multichannel audio in a sound bar is just dumb and a total fraud. Those up firing speakers in that TV are part of the same fraud.

I have a pair of Bose 601's I got free from Bose when I sold home audio and video back when Sears was still around. Being I got free 601's I bought a pair of 301's and the Bose center channel. I know Bose is expensive for what you get and nothing like the stuff from the 60's and you have the whole Bose concept that audiophiles question. I also have a 12 in sub that was connected through a
THX Ultra 7.1 Home Theater Receiver JVC RXDP15B REF.

Its a monster of a receiver and weighs 49 lbs.

I also have a Altec Lansing 5.1 that sounds great. But I live in an apartment now so I can't really turn anything up.

The TV is in the bedroom. Wife does not want speakers all over the place and is giving me grief just for wanting a set of rear surround speakers.

I get what you are saying but I don't have a lot of options. The TV is right next to my 6 foot tall cigar humidor and there is literally no room for speakers next to it.

I do thank you for your reply as I now know it will work even if the TV will be lacking. Just wanted the rears so there would be some surround for movies.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply!!

100% that is the setup in the TV.

The bluetooth function in these sets is really meant for headphones/earplugs, an optional headphone jack if you will.
It is a simple stereo output.
So, even if it would operate bluetooth speakers, they won't be surround...they will just be stereo.
But most sets will disable the main set speakers when bluetooth is active.

Audio systems and speakers are good for your health, cigars are lethal. Your priorities are backwards.
