I didn't say that they had no effect. FWIW seems biggest problem from the earth itself now seems to be the melting permafrost and the extra gasses as a result. That was a rhetorical question, I wasn't expecting an answer. The decaying matter will definitely release a lot of Methane and that's worse than excessive CO2.
