Unless you intend to buy pre-made speaker cables, bananas are the way to go. You won't be able to put Neutriks on the wires. ...and it looks like regular 1/4" phone plugs on the other.

Are you need the phone connection for the speaker, and banana plug for the amp or you can just strip the wires back and connect them up to the amp that way

Oh, come on now.

Do a google search on (quote) 1/4" phone plugs (unquote) and see what you come up with.

At least that's what they look like in the pictures. You would know better. You own them, and the manuals.

Actually, you might be better off simply buying the cables with the ends on them already.

That adapter you highlighted a few posts back should do just what you need. So would what you just highlighted.

I would also like to point out what an impressive line level signal this system has to drive those speakers to a fairly audible level.

Are you saying that the amp is too powerful for the speakers? I was planning on adding onto this system in the future so i went with the XLS2000 instead of the XLS1500, because it was the same price on black friday at the store i went to.

No, amp isn't too powerful. You will throttle it down with the volume control (or gain if need be, but prob not) anyway. Really, there is no such thing as too much power (but you may not use all that is available).

I think you should be set.

yah ive read up on ohms and watts and not overloading the speakers. I just wasn't sure what Grador meant by line level signal, I am as new as it comes and just trying to learn some.

He's saying that you were driving your speakers off the mixer. Those "outputs" that you had your speakers hooked up to were the same as if you had hooked speakers up to the mixer without an amp.

The fact that you were able to hear anything is somewhat impressive. Suggests that there is a fair amount of gain from that mixer's outs.

Oh, okay I understand now!

So if I wanted to add subs, i could do that from the same amp right. using speakon cables since both channels of the output jacks are being taken up by the speakers?

No, you would need a second amp and a crossover for the sub so it wasn't trying to play the full range. You could though use the outputs that you had the speakers plugged into for the second amp.

Or use powered subs, with built in crossovers.

Keep in mind that this isn't a home theatre system in a home environment you've got here.

You've got a semi-professional sound reinforement system meant to cover a large area with the maximum amount of sound.

A subwoofer designed for home use won't cut it here. You might want to explore the term "bass bin" and figure on an electronic crossover and serious watts.
