My rudimentary understand is that steroids are typically only used for fairly severe cases due to the potential negative effects. But there are also reports that he’s supposedly going to return to the WH as early as tomorrow.
According to the article I just linked above, the steroids need to have O2 included in order to reduce potential negative effects; however, his staff has indicated he will not need additional O2 treatments.
It sure suck when you have to second guess everything his medical staff says!

Seriously, I have no life.

Note that if you read the article, there is a bit of skepticism from other doctors regarding Trumps scheduled return to the WH ... and statements made by his medical staff which seem to contradict the known science behind the disease/treatments!
You may have responded as I updated my post. Turn on TV.
He went on a joy ride only to greet his supporters outside the hospital and roadways. He had a motorcade go-around back to hospital.
Crazy as can be. So vain.

Does posting links to WSJ articles count?
WSJ editorials, mostly yes. They read like the Fox News Team wrote them. The news articles are still pretty good, more along the old-fashioned who-what-when-where why&how structure. On most other news sites the articles read like editorials (and that includes Fox). I dropped my Bloomberg subscription when they started to phase in the every-article-is-an-editorial thing. Politico is still pretty good. I still read Fox News to see the articles (written by actual Fox "correspondents") about who wore what bikini.

Do they include pictures too? May have to look. :D
Usually links to instagram photos. I especially enjoy when these "articles" are right around the "Faith" section. I may be an atheist, but bikini photos give me faith that evolution works as promised.

You are authorized to take a short break, take some uppers, energy drinks, etc. but be back tomorrow, promptly. ;):D
I already voted. A day after that, all this brouhaha quickly became boring. We can't expect election results sooner than Nov. 4th, so I have to wait – patiently – for the next month. And we've all been warned that we may have to wait a lot longer for the election results.

I expect nothing less than a landslide win for Biden, a 60% majority :D.

As for Trump, I want nothing less than an orange jumpsuit and a personal suite in Guantanamo . If Castro says he can tolerate Arab terrorists but not Trump, we can always re-open the prison on the Dry Tortugas. There ought to be room there for all his GOP enablers/buddies.

>>>Asked about the president’s lung X-rays and scans, Conley said, “we’re tracking all of that. There are some findings but nothing of a major concern.” He refused to respond to questions about what those findings were.<<<

"Some findings" followed by an opinion that there was "nothing of a major concern" is obviously an effort to provide as little factual information as possible while applying as much positive spin as possible to the tiny factual nugget.

So what the bleep is Trump’s actual medical condition right now?
Chronic Cranial-Colonic Inversion

OK, I couldn't resist that .

Dexamethasone is a strong cortico-steroid drug. Among many other things, it suppresses inflammation and the immune system. I have taken prednisone, another cortico-steroid drug, and at high doses, it's quite unpleasant. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemies. I haven't had the pleasure of dexamethasone. Maybe TLS Guy can tell us more.

Yes, that would be a great family prison. How is the shark population around that island? :D

The blurbs I'm reading from doctors who've been in the trenches treating COVID-19 all seem to think the steroid treatment means Trump's condition is serious, but it's hard to figure out what the bleep is going on. The more I read, the more I wonder if Trump's doctors have little experience treating COVID-19 and they are in a panic mode of sorts and just throwing drugs at it (yes, that's just speculation on my part).

What a sh*t show.

So this is the mess we have now. It seems that the President was known to be infected with Corona virus Covid-19 72 hours ago and not 36 hours ago. This was concealed and the President went about his business becoming a super spreader of a potentially lethal virus.

It now transpires that extreme strings were pulled which involved Regeneron to get emergency use for the President. It seems the first dose of the monoclonal antibody cocktail, was administered 48 hours ago and not yesterday. This was clearly part of a deliberate attempt to conceal the President's infectious illness and send him about his business.

So he has unethically put many at risk, and almost certainly infected others. He almost certainly put Joe Biden at risk at the debate. There was no disclosure to the Biden Campaign.
An interesting observation that supports your thesis that Trump's circle knew of his test results before they said they knew...
