President Donald Trump about to be Proved an Industrial Liar, Unethical and Totally Unfit for Office

Have you considered that Trump isn't some kind of anomaly but rather the natural trajectory of the Republican party? What about all of the Republicans who condone or endorse his behavior, which is like 90% of them?
Nonsense. Which orifice did you pull that 90% figure out of? Never mind, I know. Did it ever occur to you that a lot of Republicans voted for Clinton, or else she would have never won the popular vote? Or did it ever occur to you that many Republicans who hate Trump are voting for him because they see it as a vote against the progressives in the Democratic party, who rightly or wrongly believe will push the party far too much left for their own comfort? Has it occurred to you that the miserable failures of many Democratic office holders to efficiently manage state and city governments cause many who wouldn't vote for Trump and don't align with what Trump has done to the Republican party (mostly out of fear of standing up to Trump) to vote Republican anyway? Personally, as an independent, I vote for a candidate, not a party, and I plan to vote for some Republican candidates and some Democratic ones too. While the party of Trump can't get my alignment, the party of Sanders and The Squad can't either. By his actions, but not his words, Biden seems to be dismissing a lot of bullshit of the democratic socialist progressives. I'm hoping my vote isn't misplaced.

Irvrobinson, you sir, are an an anomaly. The general voting populace is not as sophisticated as you are. So while I can accept your line of reasoning and thought, I think the 90% figure Shadyj uses is about right.

Most Americans on either side of the isle don’t have enough common sense to vote outside of a monolithic block.

Several prominent Republicans have acknowledged their own mea culpa in Trump's rise in the G.O.P., like members of Project Lincoln for instance. With Trump's total control of the G.O.P. , the subservient submission by the G.O.P. members of Congress, as well as throwing away whatever integrity and character they had, shows that something is very, very wrong in the G.O.P. That probably took more that three years.

As for the 90%, perhaps you should educate yourself more instead of just pulling something out of an orifice as the base of a post?

WTF would you know about it? How many Republicans do you talk to on weekly basis? How many state and local elections in the US have you voted in or closely followed? Visited a major US city lately?

Sunday morning – the dust is beginning to settle… a tiny bit.

Last Sunday evening (Sept 27), the NY Times published Trumps tax returns from the last 18 years. He paid little or no taxes, and made highly doubtful claims for $72 million in refunds of previously paid taxes. Trump has refused to reveal these to the public, claiming they were being audited by the IRS. This was a lie, as he had plenty to hide. The returns revealed Trump's massive debt of $421 million. His unidentified creditors must be paid back within the next 4 years. Who are these creditors? We know they are not US banks, as they refuse to do business with him after 6 prior bankruptcies. That leaves foreign banks or wealthy lenders. Tops on the list of suspects are Deutsche Bank, Vladimir Putin, or Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman of Saudi Arabia. Owing that money to any lender, much less a foreign lender, much less a leader of a foreign government, has always been grounds for denying a security clearance.

Tuesday (Sept 29) was the so-called presidential candidates debate. Trump's downright ugly behavior turned it into a shambles, a national embarrassment. He threatened insurrection if the election doesn't result in him winning. Trump behaved like a wounded & cornered wild animal – a danger to himself and all those around him.

Friday (Oct 2), we learned that Trump and his wife are infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus which he has falsely claimed was of no impact and should be ignored. Later that same day we learned he was taken to a hospital, to treat the life-threatening viral infection that he refused to recognize as a threat to the nation.

Saturday (Oct 3), various press conferences and communications revealed conflicting reports of how sick Trump was, what his treatments were, and when he learned of his positive Covid-19 diagnosis. It was accompanied by a trickle of reports that 7 other White House or political insiders also tested positive for the virus. The confusion and panic among the White House staff was shocking. I wondered what would happen if there had been a true national emergency, such as a large military attack on the USA.

Today, I'm exhausted from all this chaos. And these events were only from the past week.

What rock do you live under? The very high support of Trump among those that identifies themselves as Republican has been shown in survey after survey (Not on Fox and Friends, I gather), while you offer just meaningless questions about anecdotal evidence. All you are doing is some extended rationalizing for your voting.

Right. I need to rationalize my vote for individual platforms rather than party platforms. What I really need to do is start ignoring you and your asinine comments.

Approval by Republicans in a poll taken by Gallup Sept 14-28: 94% But I am more talking about the kind of support he gets from the republican senate. Total obsequiousness to a full-throated fascist, every bit as bad as he is. You can be a conservative without being a Republican, but if you identify as a Republican in these times, then you adopt all of the degeneracy, fraud, and intellectual and moral bankruptcy that comes with that badge. The philosophy of political conservatism as it has classically been understood is long dead in the current Republican party. While I am no conservative, I do respect some of the reasons why someone might adhere to political conservatism in decades past. But the Eisenhower-era party of restraint is no longer there, not even a little bit. Today's Republican party is purely reactionary. They don't hold a set of principles but rather proceed from base emotions. And right now we are all paying the price for that stupidity.

I think Trump's philosophy on the Presidency is "I'll do what I want and your (the staff) job is to support me.
He has gotten rid of anyone who dared to question his decisions and replaced them with people who are not experts in the area (like putting Pence in charge of the CDC) and therefore do not have a factual basis from which to question him. So the staff is not made up of advisers, but are a bunch of yes men at this point!
Surround yourself with blind loyalty instead of expertise, and chaos will result when the leader (dictator) is removed from the picture!

Normally the staff consists of experts who have an awareness of possibilities and have given consideration to prescribed reactions before the event even occurs!

Unfortunately, I don't think this statement is accurate. The NYT claims to have seen Trump's tax documents, but they did not publish them. They just wrote articles including some information that caught their eyes. They also did not name sources, so the provenance of the documents are unknown. I'd like to see the returns, not what a bunch of journalists say they saw. I'm guessing the truth is pretty bad, but trusting journalists isn't my strong point. I like to come to my own conclusions.

Amazing. I hadn't seen the Gallup poll. Trump always polls high with self-identified Republicans, but I thought his support was only in the 80s with his base. This is disgusting data. If the these polls are accurate we could be looking at another four years of his crap, based on that overall 46% approval rating. He could win the Electoral College again.

So between Trump's "FAKE NEWS" and NY Times reporting on tax returns you tout the G.O.P. take on this? By now I think that NY Times has earned some credibility, don't you think? Are you aware why the NY Times says it can't publish the tax returns because that will put those that gave them the information in danger? I can look up the statement for you, in case you are unable.

Yeah, my "Educate yourself" comment to your "orifice" post denying this was the case. Which, btw, has been known for a long time shown by survey after survey.

I am not touting the GOP position. No journalists have credibility with me. I like to see the facts for myself.

You protest too much. Your mistrust of journalists strongly resembles the GOP playbook ever since the 1980s. The GOP wrongly assumes all journalists are as dishonest as they are. They've made that part of their political mantra. Faux News and the Wall Street Journal are both owned by Rupert Murdoch. Much of what they publish is no better than the 'GOP Message of the Day'. I would readily trust the NYT over the WSJ, or any other rag owned by Murdoch.

If I change the words "the NY Times published Trump's tax returns" to "the NY Times revealed information from Trump's tax returns", it wouldn't change any of their conclusions, or mine.
