I've got their (Schiit) Jotunheim headphone amp, I like it, if that helps.
It's always good to hear if someone likes it or not. And what little research I've done on their preamps, I can't really find anyone who seems to be complaining. And the cost for the new preamps seem pretty reasonable. But I do wish she would listen to some tubes to see if she even likes it or not. No need going with the Freya + if she would be happy with the Freya S. In the end, I guess it's her money. And she'll probably be happy either way.
