Powering speakers in large area

Pro speakers/PA speakers would indeed be more intended for higher spls. Some hifi speakers can do it as well but its not necessarily part of their design goals.

Btw: spl is sound pressure level, measured in logarithmic scale of decibels.
Quick example: extra 10db is twice louder.

If these speakers don’t do what we want them to do without having them cranked all the time then I will definitely look into the used PA market. Thanks for the info on spl and dB.
